The secret herbal magic of Hops, Peppermint, Passionflower, and Ginkgo Biloba.

Hops flowers: A Northeastern American staple and beloved bitter

Hops flowers derive from the hop plant, which is in the hemp family. Hops are widely known for their use in craft beer brewing to add citrusy, bitter, and delicious flavor to IPAs. Don't worry, hops are gluten and alcohol-free.

Many don't know that hops flowersparticularly the flavor-packed pollen within the hops flowersare known for their calming effects on the body.

Glam Gardener is based in New York, which is one of the largest growers and exporters of Hops. Hence, why we have some of the best craft breweries in the country. No shade to our non-New York customers! ;-)

When in season, we source our hops from New York State farms to uplift local farmers while calming us the f*ck down. When not in season, we always source hops grown on American soil.

There are many varieties of hops, which range in flavor and body. We use a not-so-bitter blend of hops called Tea Makers as the base for our Calm The F*ck Down herbal tea, to ensure a delicious flavor that compliments Peppermint, Ginkgo Biloba, and Passionflower.

Fun fact: We're hops crazy. That's why we use them as the base for our Sleep Tight Herbal Tincture, alongside 2 wonderful calming plants, Lemon balm and Valerian Root.

Peppermint: A fragrant, flavor-packed, and healing perennial

Peppermint is a beloved plant that is commonly cultivated and found in the wild. Peppermint lovers across the world use it for relief from digestive upset, headaches, and clogged sinuses. Here are some fun facts about peppermint:

  • The medicinal component in peppermint stems from menthol, which is a volatile oil that comes with a variety of benefits. This volatile oil gives peppermint its aroma and flavor.
  • There are hundreds of varieties of mint plants that are cultivated and that grow wild. Many of these mint-family plants have healing properties, are fragrant, and delicious, including basil, lavender, and sage.
  • We love Peppermint and find its effects so soothing, that's why we add it to our Herbal Smoking blends alongside Mullein, Mugwort, Sage, Damiana, and more!

Ginkgo Biloba: A familiar leaf with ancient roots

Ginkgo Biloba contains powerful antioxidants. It also may assist with fighting inflammation, improving brain function, and balancing mood imbalances. We blend the leaves of the Ginkgo Biloba tree into our Calm The F*ck Down herbal tea. This tree is easy to spot growing across the U.S., but it derives from China. Ginkgo Biloba is an important staple in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Eastern culture.

Passionflower: A native nervine

Passionflower is known for its stunning, dream-like, vine-growing purple flower. It's native to the Southeastern United States. It's common to find Passionflower used as a supplement for sleep problems and hyperactivity. It's a plant that's classified as a nervine. These are plants that help to ease the nervous system.
